Jesus gives us a mission to go and make disciples, to serve. He sends us out into the world with a mission. So for us mission is about partnering with God in His redemptive work in the world. We aspire to be part of what God is already doing.
We believe that sharing the love of Christ means meeting people where they are and making sure their basic needs are met. We do this through hands on mission work both locally and internationally, as well as by supporting long-term missionaries. As the Body of Christ we aim to be where we believe Jesus would be, where God is at work.
DISCIPLE’S FOOD PANTRY
exist to feed the hungry. They assist 60-80 local families each Tuesday (10-12, 4-6) as they provide 88,000 items to the hungry each year. As the cost of food rises, and the need for assistance increases, this becomes more of a challenge.
You can join WPC in supporting this ministry by contributing items to
the food pantry. You can bring items to our church office or directly to the Food Pantry (located at Asbury Methodist Church on 149 S. Main in Woodstown).
The following items are needed: pasta and sauce, mac and cheese, canned items such as pasta, tuna, meats, vegetable and fruits, soups, beans, rice, potatos, PB&J, cerea
l, canned milk, tea, jellp/pudding, toilet paper, broths, hot chocolate, cookies/crackers, stuffing, gravies, hamburger helper, pasta mixes, pop corn, pancake mix/syrup, coffee, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, baking items, hot cereal, juices, detergent, sugar, salt, spices.

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” ~1 John 3: 16-18
